Eihwaz… Rune of the mysteries of life and death.
Eihwaz Recordings has been created as a sub-label of the long running Bindrune Recordings to explore and support more extreme metal genres that do not fit the unique aesthetic nurtured by Bindrune. With Eihwaz, we are looking to expand into the dark and twisted side of death metal, though we will not be limited to it. Other forms will undoubtedly seep into the oncoming storm, but do know that we shall be hunting for a vibrant strand of uniqueness and dedicated musical intensity as found on the ever growing Bindrune roster.

After enduring a planning stage that has spanned the full length of 2012, Bindrune Recordings is pleased to bring you the highly anticipated "OtO", the 3rd release of Native American driven classical/folk/metal. Stunning classical guitar work sits comfortably with mature and forward thinking metal to somehow transport the listener back in time where peoples values and daily lives were very different and strange to our own in this rotting modern world. We think it's best to let the band sum up the meaning behind the music on this release themselves...
Nechochwen: "We consider this third Nechochwen album to be a "double EP" with Side A taking an organic, acoustic route and Side B shifting to an aggressive metal assault. The focus of this album is quite simple: ancestral wisdom and Native tradition is relevant and important in our overly complex and distracting present world. Never has man been so disconnected from the very soil he walks on. Just as there are two sides to this LP, there are two sides to all of us. One is at peace with our surroundings and the other attempts to conquer them. This album is a tribute to the balanced, ancestral self."
Pohonasin: "Oto, in both conception and inception, is paradoxical in nature. It is the proverbial thread of the past thrust through the eye of the needle that is what we call the present day; a musical time machine that seamlessly shifts between two worlds that could be considered equally shrouded in obscurity. Visually, the title 'O+O' invokes a sense of symmetry. Like a human face, it looks equal on both sides. But upon closer inspection, symmetry is but an illusion. Each side holds its own discerning features. Such is the case with this volume of Nechochwen. Two distinctly different notes of the same chord, embraced in a confluence of harmony." |

Blood of the Black Owl's 4th full length offering "Light the Fires!" rises and shines upon lifting the spirit's veil, through the spiritual teachings of the six directional path and the sacred breath within us all.
A soundscape to help surface, understand and heal an ever increasingly egoic nature of programmed disconnection, a sickness we as a species carry within an unbalanced circle of spirit, rooted deeply into a fragile cyclical self. It seems, we are no longer a human being and have become the human doing! The crafting of "Light the Fires!" offers a medicinal musical, aiding in the clearing of poisons found to feed this ego. A ritual of musical restoration seeking balance towards this great and vast four quartered circle of life.

have been toiling behind the scenes on our 2 next releases. Here's

news!
Now streaming Nechochwen - OtO limited LP in its entirety!!
"OtO", Nechochwen's follow-up to the amazing Azimuths to the Otherworld is
in the finishing stages as we complete the design and will be going to the
pressing plant at the same time as the Blood of the Black Owl CD. The
material on OtO is exclusive to vinyl and features one side of classically
themed music that Nechochwen has become revered for, while the other erupts
and delves further into the bands infinitely layered and unique metal side.
This 30 minute 12" finds Nechochwen continuing on their bold path of supreme
instrumentation and a Native American rooted sound and ideology that is
unparalleled in a musical climate often dominated by bands lost in a Nordic
frame of stylistic emulation.

Light the Fires!, the 4th full-length album by the ever prolific and
passionate Blood of the Black Owl has been enshrouded in a bit of confusion
and delay since the art for this amazing piece was recorded a year ago.
Handmade Birds is no longer a part of this release, instead, Bindrune
Recordings will be co-releasing LTF! alongside the ever amazing Glass Throat
Recordings which some of you may know, is the label owned and operated by
Black Owl's own Chet Scott, along with Rachel Boez-Scott. Glass Throat is
widely regarded as a visual and musically stunning upholder of pure artistic
vision and has released amazing works by Ruhr Hunter, Alethes, At the Head
of the Woods, Feartheinne, The Elemental Chrysalis, and others. Their
uniquely stunning, 6"x6" gatefold digipak designs are a major part of each
release that perfectly empowers the art within. We are pleased to announce
that Light the Fires! will be released in this 6"x6", 3 panel packaging

03/11/12 Update
We are pleased to announce that Tacoma, Washington's own Alda have joined
the Bindrune fold and are currently working on material that will be their
third full-length release! Alda have been one of those amazing bands on the
Bindrune short list for a solid year now, as their unique blend of emotive
and deeply spiritual folk influenced black metal has been in constant
rotation here at the Bindrune camp for some time. Their music breathes in
the vital ecology of their surroundings and shapes it into a stirring
experience that exhales hope and love for the natural world.
At press time, there are no details regarding the new album, other than the
band is working on the material, but we will offer news as it becomes
available.
In the mean time, Alda's latest release, "Tahoma" is still available on
cassette through Eternal Warfare, 'The Bindrune webshop' (more copies are on
the way), and later this year, the release will see a CD treatment through
'Pest Productions', and a vinyl release through another label.
Hoodies
In other news, we have printed a small run of 30 limited Bindrune Recordings
zip hoodies! Shimmer silver ink on high quality hoods will keep you warm
through the chill of spring. There are small quantities of all the sizes
still remaining, so act fast!
1/2/12 Update
Thank you one and all for your support this year and helping Bindrune reach a higher level of awareness and success than we have yet to achieve. It means a lot and we hope that you continue to follow our efforts for many great new releases are coming together as we speak. Digital Downloads
After receiving many emails this year regarding the availability of Bindrune titles in digital format, we have finally established a Bindrune Bandcamp page! On here, you will be able to stream a release for free before you buy either the CD/LP, or the digital files. All of our titles are currently up there for sale digitally, other than Celestiial's Where Life Springs Eternal (some of the tracks exceeded Bandcamp's length restrictions, but we will make it available asap) and the Blood of the Black Owl/Celestiial split LP which will be added to the site soon.
All the releases were upladed as WAV files, so the quality already exceeds anything you could buy on itunes and it is directly managed by the label. So feel free to preview before you buy! To hell with Itunes! Spread the word! Click the 'Digital Download' link in our navigation section and escape...
A Label sampler will also be compiled soon exclusively for bandcamp and will either be super cheap, or better yet... free!
Nechochwen
Nechochwen has completed the recording and mastering process for the impending, as yet untitled, limited 12" LP. This release will be vinyl only and it sounds fantastic thanks again to Sacred Sound Studio. This MLP is a true progression for the band and very much a unique vision for the extreme metal world to behold.
Ancestry, heritage, classical and metal unite for one of the most passionate pieces of music you will hear this year. With a style that embraces the beautiful acoustic work found on Nechochwen's debut, "Algonkian Mythos", and by diving even further into the metal themes and emotions that permeated the amazing "Azimuths to the Otherworld", the new Nechochwen is a vibrant chapter into a much larger world for Nechochwen.
This release is meant to pacify the fans as the band turns its sites on full-length #3. As the artwork solidifies and everything goes off to press, we have added "Heya Hona" to the music player to peak your interest of what's to come...
Blood of the Black Owl
The release date for "Light the Fires!" has been pushed back until February 2012 as we anticipate the completion of the artwork. Patience! This monumental release is definitely worth the wait as Chet Scott has pushed the boundaries of his amazing art even further into the beautiful and personal realms of cross genre experimentation and an open minded realization of what he want this amazing extension of himself to embrace. Completely stunning.

We have just repressed the Bindrune Recordings shirt design, this time in shimmer copper. Goto the 'webshop' and secure your shirt before this pressing of 50 is gone. We are pleased to announce that Bindrune Recordings will be uniting with Handmade Birds Records to co-release Blood of the Black Owl's next stunning opus, Light the Fires! This CD release will feature a lavish 5" gatefold package and artwork/design by Glass Throat Visions. The 2LP gatefold will come later in the year and will feature a different cover. Details are still coming together, but do expect the CD to be available mid 2011. More info will be shed as it becomes available. In the meantime, the track Sundrojan has been added to the Music Player section of this site! The Owl hunts again!
